Date: Tue., Aug. 3, 2021
Time: 5:30 PM (Arrival 5:00 – 5:30 PM)

Pujya Guruji has declared August 3 as a day of sadhana – a special day in remembrance of Gurudev, for the invaluable service He has offered to mankind and to seek His blessings!

Chinmaya Mission San Diego is pleased to announce the grand celebration of the 28th anniversary of Chinmaya Mahasamadhi as a tribute to Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati who left his mortal coil in San Diego on August 3, 1993.

Chinmaya Jyoti lamp will be lit at 5:45 PM, the exact time of Pujya Gurudev’s Mahasamadhi in San Diego 28 years ago. This will be followed by Guru Paduka Puja with 108 Jyoti arcanabhajans by Chinmaya Swaranjaliarati and prasadam.

Please bring padukas or jyoti and flowers to perform puja alongside.

As a mark of reverence, devotees of Pujya Gurudev all over the world wear a Kerala outfit for the Guru Paduka Puja on this day. In keeping with this tradition at CMSD, all ladies are requested to wear a kerala saree or off-white saree with contrast blouse. All men are requested to wear a white/off-white dhotikurta and angavastram.

We request all of you to take part in this solemn event, with your family.
